"The Tale of Sir Oscarfish"

Hey everybody!
I'm still getting used to posting on here so bear with me! I just wanted to share an episode of the show I am currently working on for the Disney Channel- "Fish Hooks" created by the amazing Noah Z. Jones! My job on the show is to write and storyboard. It's a fun job and it's also very challenging! Here is an episode that I'm very proud of entitled "The Tale of Sir Oscarfish". A lot of very talented people worked very hard to make this episode turn out as awesome as it did, and I would like to send a virtual high-five to everyone involved in the making of this! I will write more about the making of the show in the future, but for now, enjoy!!

Jennifer Yuh Nelson: Kung Fu Panda 2 - The Treatment on KCRW

Jennifer Yuh Nelson: Kung Fu Panda 2 - The Treatment on KCRW

Every animation story artist should give this interview a listen as it is not only an excellent interview with a very talented and experienced animation artist (and one of my storyboard heroes), but a lot of great lessons in visual storytelling are contained as well. Simply click on the quicktime movie and scroll through it FRAME BY FRAME with the right arrow key. There's no sound either- you're going to have to use your imagination (a little audience participation never hurt anyone.)

Let me know what you think in the comments section. After all this time and at the urging of friends I've finally given in and started a blog of my artwork. I guess what's really cool about this is now that most of these shows are done it gives me an opportunity to finally show all the cool stuff we had to cut out of episodes of shows like Billy and Mandy or My Gym Partner's a Monkey- and give people a taste of what is was like behind the scenes.

I'll start things off with one of my favorite "Mandy-isms" from "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy". Maxwell Atoms (God Bless that man) gave me the opportunity to storyboard these when I was just starting out as a storyboard revisionist on the show. I did a whole batch of them- not all of them made it- but I will post them all up as soon as I scan them. Until then- enjoy!
